This is the account of machines of war pitted against each other and the combatants who operated them. Step onto the battlefield and immerse yourself in the experience of real historic combat. The Valentine and the Panzer III were two of the most pivotal and ubiquitous tanks to see combat during World War II. Frequently-facing off in brutal battles across Europe, Libya, Egypt, and Tunisia, these iconic machines each demonstrated, their own strengths and weaknesses. This study compares both AVF types, documenting their modifications across a three-year period in which up-gunned and up-armoured variants - ever more lethal, ever more survivable - arrived in North Africa.
