This weekend there are several holiday makers at the Glenmora Plantation near Dennery on Saint Lucia Island. Inspector Darrell Goodman is among the guests. He has known George Delmar, the current owner of the banana plantation, for some years. George has organized this little weekend with the help of his new bride, Adele. She sent all of the invitations and is playing the role of hostess to perfection until the former Mrs. Delmar – Gloria – makes a grand entrance on the premises. She is escorted by her nephew, Dylan Delmar. Dylan is a bit of a womanizer and seems quite taken by his aunt. Next to arrive is Dr. Mayhew. He’s an old friend of the family. Adele asks the doctor to see what’s keeping her husband George at the water mill. On his way to the mill Dr. Mayhew meets with Moses. He is the property’s handyman. When the doctor arrives at the mill, he finds George Delmar dead! Goodman doesn’t wait for the authorities to arrive on the scene and starts his investigation by calling Sergeant Alice Trenton in Castries and asking her to check on everyone’s background. What Alice finds out is hardly believable. Who killed George Delmar? No one was near the mill when he died.
